opening nite "A Small Voice"

It went off okay last nite as a good number of friends and colleagues came along to my small gathering at the Dunedin School of Art gallery, Thanks to everyone who came and supported me throughout the past three years of study here.

As part of the whole exam process I also had to exhibit all my work from the time I was at the school so here are a few shots of the work room for the exam.

It finally happened

Well it finally happened. Yesterday I sat my final exam for the Master of Fine Arts degree at Otago Polytechnic School of Art here in Dunedin.
What a stressful year 2011 was, and yes I did over extend myself a bit, taking on too many projects for other people and not allocating enough time to do my own work, but with the kind help of Bridie and Neil I managed to prepare 11 photo art books and hang 15 pictures for my final exam and exhibition.
The books are cool, and I am pleased with how they turned out. I had two of them (4OSR_1 and Lawrence) produced at Blurb.com and they came back real good, and all for around 80 Aussie dollars each.
Locally I had the rest printed at Anne Tamatis, DigiArt in Port Chalmers and at  MCK printers in town, who also printed the dust jackets, and then Jane Armour did all the bindery work and made a great job of them.
She covered one of the 4OSR books in material sourced from a DPM army shirt and it feels really great.
Overall I am pleased with how the exam process went and my final exhibition, but now I have to think to the future and start reviving projects put on hold last year.

All the best to all my friends out there and I will see you soon
